Replacement for tassels/fringes?

Lady_of_Roses

Question

Not sure if this is the right forum, but it looked about right.

My husband does not like or want fringes or tassels on any afghans I make. I'm not entirely sure if he simply doesn't like the look, feels they get in the way of the actual blankie, or if he just doesn't want the cat chewing on 'em.

Any suggestions for finishing afghans that would have fringes or tassels so that the afghan actually looks finished and not like something is missing?

You can just do a couple of rounds of single crochet. I also like the look of one round of single crochet and then a round of reverse single crochet.

I don't like fringe on both ends of a blanket. So I just put fringe on one end and I know that is the bottom of the afghan.

Since I don't like to use tassels, fringe, etc. on baby blankets, I use those pretty thread edgings to finish them. Sometimes it takes a bit of figuring to adapt them to yarn, but it's not hard to do.
