Shell Edged Jacket-Annie's

sprtsbear

Question

I'm trying to make a copy of this jacket. I need help. It is kind of like a shrug, but I can't get how the part under the sleeves is done. Do you think it is added on afther the sleeves are sewn. If anyone can figure this out, I'd be very thankful.

You can find a picture on Annie's Attic site. They only sell this item as a kit for large sizes.

Hi sprtsbear

What a pretty jacket! It looks to me as if the basic construction is just like the mrs who shrug in the Original Designs section here at Crochetville. The sleeves and upper back are made in one straight piece, then the sleeves are joined and you work round and round the open section in the middle for the body.

The difference in the Annie's jacket is that when starting working in the round, the designer has continued with the stitch pattern she used on back and sleeves (dc?) instead of beginning the lacy section right away as mrs who does. Squinting at the picture and trying to count holes :lol it looks like there are only about 8 rounds of lace.

If you go ahead and make it please do post a picture -- I'd love to see it.
