Are diamonds a girl's best friend?

Question

I am really trying to follow the harlequin stitch pattern in the Crochet Stitch Bible. I can do the foundation chain and row 1. The second row just doesn't look right. I think it may be I am not dong the 6 DC together correctly. So I guess first can somebody help me with that?

Please help....

:think 6DC TOG is done by working all but the last movement of the DC, over 6STs then finishing them all off at once. Quite a tricky thing to do as you will have lots of loops on your hook but with a bit of wiggling you will get there. If you do happen to drop any of the loops, it is best to completely do it again rather than try to pick up the loops.

It makes an upside-down shell.

You probably do 6DC into one st somewhere to compensate. Do you?

Hope this is what you needed.

Thanks for the reminder of the dc tog... It just seems really really odd when you are doing 6. Anyways I have had to frog the piece several times and I have not had a chance to go back to it. The other problem is that I do the 6 dc tog then chain 7. It's kinda odd, there are big odd gaps in it. I think it's me.
