Hat pattern to go with Lion Scarf?

I'm looking at the various options for ear-flap hats for my snowboarding son, and I happened upon this one... a Lion Brand pattern.

 

Hmmmm... something looks kinda funny, but I can't quite place it. I hate to criticize an artist's design... maybe it's that the color and texture in the hat seem quite differnt from the heart over the ear... Any comments?

i think that is a really cute hat.. however.. i saw this months ago.. and its not the design that throws me.. i am a stickler for my hues to match .. ESPECIALLY red.. which is really hard to do .. but its just soo off .. and that is the part i dont like about that hat
