Looking For: Quick & Easy Gift Idea

Recommended Posts

One of my co-workers just reminded me that her birthday is on Friday. Can someone please give me some ideas of something quick and easy I can make her before then? I've already made her a scarf and some coasters for Christmas and I can't think of anything else. I appreciate any suggestions you might have.

I could NOT for the world do without my hand warmers during the winter! Very quick and easy. You can find a pattern for it in the show and tell. I can't remember who posted there but I know there is one or I use this one doing a regular single crochet and make the wrist part longer http://www.bellaonline.org/articles/art6061.asp I also make the part that comes up the fingers longer too- almost all the way up to the finger bending (knuckle?:( ) part AND make the thumb a row or two longer too. My hands stay wonderfully warm. I can knock out a pair of these in just a few hours depending on what's on tv!:lol LOVE LOVE LOVE them. I've done them in acrylic scraps and woolease. I like the woolease best because it doesn't make my hands sweat the way the acrylic does.

Hard to add anything to Empress Busy Bee's empressive (oh, I'm so sorry, that pun totally wasn't worth it) list but don't forget these kinds of things for the purse/briefcase:

* Eyeglasses case -- http://crafts.vigilant20.com/?p=65

* iPod/MP3 case -- http://www.azcentral.com/home/crafty/articles/0416craftyideas0416.html

* Cell phone cover -- Too numerous to pick even one easy favorite; five are listed starting with "cell" at http://www.crochetpatterncentral.com/directory/bags_totes_purses.php

There are actually a million patterns for each of these all over the place so you can Google to find one that matches your tastes, stash, and time factor. Depending on the yarn you use, these can look cute, kitsch, or totally classy.
