Wool embroidery floss?

I've never fulled anything but I have the urge to try. It looks fun

 

I have some wool embroidery floss. Could that be fulled? If not, why? What does a person look for when they want to full something?

 

And (forgive my total ignorance but thought I'd ask) is wool the only thing that can be fulled?

I don't know very much about the subject, but if the wool is washable, it probably won't felt.

I prefer needlepoint wool.

For my type of designing, it is the best to use. All the fronts of my bags have a good portion of needlepoint wool used in it. See my signature for the link to my site so you can see how its makes up.

Well I guess the only thing to do is crochet up a swatch and see what happens, eh? The label doesn't say anything about "washable" or not. Ok, thanks I'll give it a whirl.

If all goes well I'll tell you tomorrow (I'm slow but I get there - I got distracted with 6" squares for one of the charity links - instant gratification!)

It worked I used it as the trim on a fulled bag. I should have made a swatch to test but I'm too impatient so I just made the whole bag. Good thing it all worked out
