More suggestions for any community...

Most people probably know that you can donate preemie hats, mitts and booties to your local hospital. You could also donate to lots of other members of your community:

 

Breastfeeding scarves or shawls --> local womens' shelter, health care centre and hospitals.

 

Small scrap afghans and rugs --> child care centres, pre-schools, and pet shelters (the pets especially don't care about the colours!).

 

Hats and scarves (especially two-tones school colours) --> your local elementary and high school; they can use them as fundraisers.

 

Anybody else have any creative suggestions?

Yes Nursing homes can always use Bed jackets, laprobes, Slippers, and health and beauty items.

To make it fair I always ask my donations be given to someone needy or use for Bingo prizes!

 

Also check at your church(or place of worship) about missions I know myself being a missionary do depend on the charity of others to help run this ministry! Right now we are in need of Gallon Zip bags Unusual! Most people do not realize the importance of this item!!
