Anything is possible. :hook Crochet a swatch of 20 scs and 10 rows or so, count the number per inch and then you can find the pattern size you need.

If that's confusing - Count the number per inch (say, 7 scs per inch). If you want it to be 36 inches at the bust, 36 x 7 = 252. Find the size that ends up being 252 scs around. The math might be a little harder if there's a specific pattern, but it's still possible.

Thanks!

yea the pattern is motifs, so if i make a swatch and go from there, it should be 5" each motif BUT i have already made the same top in yarn, but i think i would prefer it a bit smaller if you know what i mean :blush
