small pattern to learn front post?

chickpea67

Question

Alright-- I avoid patterns withfront post and back post stitches because when I try to understand the stitch I can't understand it. Mind you I've never actually TRIED the stitch either. But can someone reccommend a small project that has this in it? It seems like the next logical step in my crochet progression!

A simple project would be to make a small dishcloth or hotpad with cotton yarn. Have you tried using Stitchguide (now Annies Attic) where they have videos of most every crochet stitch you'll ever use (single, double, triple, front post, back post, etc.)

There is a pattern out there called Pretty In PInk, it is a blanket entirely of FPDC and BPDC. You can make any size swatch to practice. It is a very nice and textured stitch, once you learn it you will love it and it is not hard. I know that is easy for me to say, but if I can learn it anyone can! LOL :cheer

origami-- i looked at stitch guide--they used to have patterns under the stitch to help you practice-- i didnt see any for the front post or back post-- maybe I missed it.

Try this link:

Front and Back Post Stitches

And you will love these stitches once you know how to do them! :hook

If you do a search online for "front post crochet pattern" you'll definitely find some patterns:

Here's a great dishcloth:
