Last Holiday advertising "joke"

Hey everyone....

 

I love Queen Latifah like a long lost sister, but I was kinda surprised by what she said in her lines for a promo/portion of the movie/blurb on her new movie, Last Holiday coming out soon. Has anyone else seen it? It's the part where she's in a casino gambling and she says something to the effect of "Duh, that's why they call it gambling and not crochet." Maybe we should give her some of the patterns for the squares in the Scriptures Afghan and see how she feels about the complexity of crochet then! I took it as the joke that it was, but the ignorance of people surrounding crochet just astounds me at times!

I'd just take it to mean that crochet isn't risky like gambling, not that it isn't complex. If gambling was synonymous with complexity there would only be brilliant people going to those Vegas casinos.

LMAO @ crochet gambling. I was kinda curious as to whether or not anyone else had caught that and what they thought. Interesting to read the responses. Cause heaven knows some of the most brillant people in America aren't swindling away their money in a casino (maybe some are, who knows?).

I saw it. I thought it was funny. I think they were pulling from all areas. There is one with Emeril and the Food Network on on staff for the clip or something.
