Finishing off hat ?

In finishing a hat, there are 10 stitches on the last round. Then the pattern says "thread yarn in tapestry needle and draw through last sts. Pull sts tog tightly." Do I weave the thread in and out of those last 10 sts? That's what I'm doing and it's kind of puckered at the top.

Yes, that is what it sounds like the pattern wants you to do, and it will create a puckered top. If you want, you can sc2 tog around, so you have 5 stitches and finish it in the same manner and it will not be as puckered. Alot of hat patterns worked from the bottom up, are finished in this manner though.

I think I might even do this pattern backwards (from the top down) next time to avoid the pucker at the top.
