Sigg Bottle Cover

Hi all, I saw this in the departmental store & the first thought that came to mind was, it's a very simple CROCHETED bottle cover.

 

I got a shock when I saw the description as KNITTED bottle cover. It looks so distinctly double crochet to me and I emailed Sigg to check. They claimed that it's knitted.

 

Does anyone know if it's possible to create such a crocheted-like stitch by knitting? maybe by machine? I don't knit myself but I can't believe it's knitted.

Can't get to the photo. I want to check it out. I do not believe it is possible to duplicate a look of dc with knitting, though.

That picture you show, it is not knitted...But to a layman, I get that all the time they think they are one in the same... But that is dc crochet not knit

Looks like dc to me. Some people think knitting and crocheting are the same thing. Quite a few times I've been asked what am I knitting.

thanks for checking out the picture & confirming my suspicion.

 

mayb i'm over reacting but i juz find it very ridiculous tat a company like Sigg can get the way their products are made wrong in the description.

 

i've emailed their PR person again to provide me with more details of the "knitting" method they claimed the bottle cover is manufactured by.

 

if they made a mistake, even if they don't do any corrective action like replacing the descriptions, they should still admit it.

 

yah, i guess it's the same all over the world. everyone tinks tat knitting is the only craft u do with needle & yarn...haha
