What's the best way to fringe...

lily

Question

a scarf made of homespun??

I used an N hook, and the pattern is a simple 14 sc per row. I'm not a fringe girl myself.. This scarf is for a gift and it is practically BEGGING for fringe. should I make tassels? If so, how do I do that? Or should i just give it a simple single or double strand "per sc" tie on fringe?

Or should I try a different method altogether?

You could try a looped fringe. I did it on a homespun scarf & really liked the looks of it. I'm not very good at writting instructions, but here goes:

Slip stitch, ch 14, skip 1 stitch, sl st in next, working behind ch loop, sl st in the skipped stitch, repeat. Hope this makes sense :)
