Switching Colors

I've been rolling a few ideas around in my head for a shawl for my mom. (first I have to finish Kathy's for my MIL). But I was wondering if it is more difficult than it is worth to use more than one color in a project? I assume it's about the same as yarn, but I figure it's more difficult to hide ends.

 

Any advice?

I personally don't mind changing colors/working in ends in yarn or thread. You just have to be a little more creative with thread, making sure you're burying your ends carefully.

I made a handful of snowflakes over the weekend, and actually had an easier time hiding the ends -- for me, thread crochet tends to be fairly tight, so color changes are pretty easy to hide. Go for it!
