Working around a Foundation Chain Question! Please help me!!!

Aleja

Question

I am stuck!!! I have been crocheting  only for a couple of weeks and it's been going great but now I have come into something I have NO IDEA how to do. Youtube is NO help sometimes! Please help!

So I am kinda understanding a "foundation chain" but this pattern is a little confusing for me. I am making a cute little monkey. But when it comes to the nose I'm so confused. I need at step by step exactly please.

Do I chain 5, then start "round 1" 4 sc starting on the 2nd chain of my 5 chains. but then where do I do the sc x 3? Do I chain 6 instead?

OR do I

pls help!

You are going to be working into both sides of the chain to create an oval.

https://www.ehow.com/how_2093630_crochet-basic-oval-shape.html

ch 6

Make 4sc in second ch from hook

sc in next ch

sc in next ch

sc in next ch

Make 4 sc in next or last or end ch

Rotate (not turn as you are still working on front or right side as opposed to turning and working on back or wrong side) so now what was the bottom of your chains is now on top and work back across chains.

1sc in next ch

1 sc in next ch

1 sc in next ch

14 stitches made and

(14) is the stitch count for the round
