Help identifying stitch

 I made this triangle shawl a few years back. I've decided to organize and write all my patterns down and put them in one place. Can anyone identify this stitch? I can't remember anything about this pattern.

If you turn your head to look at it sideways it looks like a single crochet.

[Granny Square]

It sort of reminds me of a stitch with many names but I'm not entirely positive; the linked one is SC, chain 1, then the next row is SC into the chain space, chain 1 over the SC below. Your example seems to have 2 SC together somehow (maybe?)  I'm tilting my head to the right to see the photo right side up.
