Waffle Stitch Question

AnnaF

Question

Hello! I’m just beginning to learn to crochet, so forgive me if my question is confusing. I’m still learning all the terms. I’m following a YouTube tutorial on making a waffle stitch pattern blanket. I’ve gotten to the end of a repeat of row two and I’m just not sure how to end the line. The first time I did that row pattern, the end looked like the one in the video. Now, though, as I’m repeating the row I don’t have the same tight stitch from where I skipped the double chain. Could anyone possibly help me figure out where the last double crochet should go now that I’ve reached the edge of the blanket? Or let me know if I’ve made a major mistake?

Thank you in advance!

Welcome to the 'ville!  If I am not mistaken, it is the spot the blue arrow is pointing to.  I believe this is the top of chain 3 that usually is the 'turning chain', or more actually for DC, 'the chain that takes the place of the first DC of the next row, and brings your yarn to the height of that row'.
