Question

Hi, I’m completely new to crochet. Just started crocheting last year.

Am currently trying my hand at making crochet hearts

However, I’m stuck at row 3. Does 4htr means “ 4 htr in each st across”?

htr is UK term for half treble which is half double crochet in US term.

4 htr means to make 1htr in each of the next 4 stitches of the previous row.

The (8sts) is your stitch count for the row.  You should have a total of 8 stitches.

2ch = 1 stitch

1 htr in base of ch= 1 stitch

1 htr in each of next 4 stitches= 4 stitches (if it was 4 htr into each stitch it would = 16 stitches)

2 htr in last stitch= 2 stitches

1+1+4+2=8 stitches
