I am at the Edging Rnd 1 - I need help understanding “after 2 sc in next ch-3 sp; 3 sc in each ch-3 sp across, sc in last sc, place marker around sc just made for st placement?” In instructions in STORY TIME AFGHAN.

Is this it?  (If you arent a Ravelry member its free to join.)  If so look at the project pages.  There are some comments about the border.  There are some very good closeups of the border that might help you see what to do.  The part you gave us seems pretty straight forward unless you dont know how to work in a chain space.
