Tree of Life Pattern

Coach Joanne

Question

I want to make a tree of life crocheted afghan for my grandson's wedding present. There are lots of versions with three repeating double trees. I would prefer one large set of entwined trees with some interesting borders. Not confident that I can figure it out myself. Anyone done anything like this? Appreciate any help.

I've not done this.  The only example I know of is the Lion Brand one, and that has post stitches scattered all over the blanket, in almost every row and mostly all the way across; I wonder if limiting it to 2 trees with probably unbalanced areas of not-post stitches, or fewer post stitches, will cause it to not lay as flat in areas where the trees are versus open areas?  No clue, just a 'wondering'.
