Question

I am following a lovely pattern by Nicki Trench for hexagons to make a blanket. At the end of a couple of rounds the instruction is to break off the colour but not fasten off. She explains at the beginning of the book this means break yarn and leave loop on your hook. The next round starts with a new colour fastened in with a slip stitch to a DC, so how does the row with the breaking off finish and secure? Can anyone help?

Welcome to the ville!  Leave a long tail (at lest 6"), and weave it in securely later (crocheting over ends is not secure).  It is a tidier transition that way; you will have 2 'unsecure' ends together, but once you stitch beyond that, it won't unravel; they might loosen up a tiny bit but you can snug it up again before weaving.
