Hooked zebra pattern help

Question

I don't know what I keep doing wronG with the  body part of this zebra pattern but by the time I get to round  4 all of the edges all curl upwards .iv unpicked it and redone it about twenty times and I don't know why it keeps doing it.. Or is it supposed to do that?  Any help much appreciated.

Single crochet curls (or DC, if you are in the UK).  I assume this zebra is not a flat piece, but a stuffed toy, right?  It's only going to curl on a flat piece, like the hem of a pullover for example.  Don't worry about it, when you shape and stuff the animal and sew it up, the curl has no way to do it's thing.

Well, it's sort of the nature of the stitch to tend to want to curl a little, so it's not 'you'.

It's not as bad as knit stockinette which curls ferociously, which is why you will see ribbing on the hems and cuffs of knit items. Example, this hat's brim is doing that all by itself.
