seeking nylon dish scrubbies

Recommended Posts

a while back, i was looking for a pattern for nylon dish scrubbers- i am absolutely fed up with buying them, & they immediately start falling apart. someone who posted a pattern said hers would last for years- & sold for several dollars. i would be interested in buying some if they really last so much better. the instructions did not inspire me to try to make them- would rather just buy some!!! PM me if you make them & sell them! thanks, beverly

Forgive my ignorance but can't you buy them in the supermarket? We have nylon scouring pads but we have metal scrubbies here. I would be happy to buy some and send them to you if that will help. I have a funny feeling that what you want is a nylon version of our metal ones thogh somehow.PM me if i can help ok.

you can buy them & they are quite inexpensive, but they don't stay together- they immediately start to come apart. i do want nylon, not metal. someone who makes them said the "crochet" version lasts a long time.

I have made them for my dad, and he loves them. I just buy nylon mesh (tulle) and cut it into strips then crochet about four rounds, increasing to keep it from curling up. The heavier the mesh the rougher the scrubber.

I think this was the pattern I used last time and liked a lot: http://web.archive.org/web/20041128085033/http://www.wwvisions.com/craftbb/askbb/9259.html

I've heard that you can buy the mesh on a roll (so it's already a narrow strip and doesn't need to be cut), but I've never been able to find it that way. It'd be great not to have to cut mesh, though!
