Welcome to the 'ville!  This pattern?

See after you make the first motif, at the end of the 24th row it says 'cut thread'.  OK, one done.

Then, it says "work a second motif, joining to first motif as follows" ..etc. etc....."Join 3rd motif to 2nd motif and 4th motif to 3rd and 1st motifs in same manner."

It's very common to join as you go like this for tablecloths and bedspreads, where they'll give the instruction for motif #1 and the instruction for motifs 2 thru the last one are different at the last round because you complete that round and join to other motifs at the same time, in some scheme of working on the current motif for a few stitches,  reach over to another motif and join in a specific spot, then reach back to the first motif, repeat.

It looks like this one, when you join, leaves a 'hole' in the corners where 4 motifs meet (also not uncommon for bedspreads and tablecloth) so the joining motifs are made, and joined to the intersections of 4 corners 'as you go' in the joining motif's last round as well.

If you have made ALL the motifs, you're going to have to get creative in the way you join them.  If you've only made a couple - say 2 - finish the third motif by connecting it on 1 side to 1 motif, and the opposite side to the other motif (so, they're all side by side, in a row). Then make other motifs that will join to those on 1 or more sides.
