Needle Felting Info

While crocheting is my first love:hook , I love doing about anything having to do with fiber. I just noticed that Knitting Warehouse now has wool roving in 1 oz packages for needle felting. Would like to give it a try. Can anyone give me any help on how far an oz will go? Any other info will also be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I usually buy 3oz-6oz bags, and I haven't even made a dent in them. I dye them with koolaide, coffee, tea, etc so that I only have to get one color of rovings. Here are some pics of what I have made.

This is absolutely my favorite craft to do. Beware tho, it is highly addictive...and your finger tips will hurt. LOL. Have fun and let's see your creations.

Love your critters! Thanks so much. Sometime ago I saw a needle felted wall hanging & since I paint & sculpt, thought it would be wonderful to combine the two using fiber.

If you make a base of grey or white wool then put the colors in just where you want the m to show your wool will go a long ways.

This needle felted piece is grey underneath, and the colors are a thin layer on top, except where they are locks added on.

Thanks, it is still a work in progress, I feel like I just go into the picture while I am working on it. It is one of the more creative things I have done in a while. I am adding more trees and bushes and such.
