Framing a doily?

I just completed a 12 x 9 doily with name and date for a christmas gift. Question is should I block and stiffen the doily before matting and framing?? Thanks for any info

I would definitely block it, but ,you probably only need to lightly spray starch it since it will be framed. My favorite blocking method for doilies is pinning down with non-rusting straight pins, then spray starch with a quality brand and let dry. Then remove the pins. I look forward to seeing a photo of your framed doily. (I hope)
