What a sweet sister you are!

'That color' is a lot of colors, and even more because the sun and shadow is making several colors of 1 'dog' color(bright sun at the top of the head, shadow on the shoulder).

Are you trying to make a 3D dog toy (which would be really complicated with all the colors) or a portrait 'graphghan' or pillow?

I can't recommend specific colors, but if I were doing this as a portrait I'd crop the photo to the dog's face and chest area and run it through this program to create a graph (choose crochet format) http://www.microrevolt.org/knitPro/.  You will probably have to clean it up a little - again if I was doing this I'd 'erase' the background and make it a solid non-dog color.  You will probably end up simplifying the colors somewhat...sort of like a paint by numbers piece.

The only thing I can think of that would maybe come close, color wise, is PNC  Chocolate Ombre.  That will not blend either, as it will be blocks, not stripes.

Have fun and can't wait to see the finished product.
