Picots stitches on top of double crochets

Please look at this pattern.  I see 7 on row 4 there are 7 picot stitches on top of 8 dc.  What is skipped?  I do not see how this works?  Thank you

Hello and welcome to the 'ville!  Sorry to scold you on your first day, but posting a scan of a pattern violates copyright and forum rules, so you should delete it.  If you could have cropped and blown up 1 shell grouping that probably would have been OK, but not the whole page.

 

Meanwhile, it was hard to see but I'm going to guess the picots may have been made in the gaps between the 8 DCs.  There would be 7 gaps.

I answered your message, but will repeat here:  if there are 8 sts, there are 7 spaces between the sts.  make the picots there.  

 

Using a diagram, sometimes the exact stitch placement is kind of up to the user.

complete the dc, ch 3, slip stitch into the first chain (that completes the picot), make the next dc.  that is how i would do it.

at the bottom of your post see where it says "edit"?  click on that and you should be able to delete the attachment.
