Need suggestions

I am in the middle of making a granny square afghan. The squares are in blue and white, and I've mixed up the order of rounds on some squares. It still looks boring to me, and I was thinking about adding something to some of the squares to dress it up a bit. My first thought was snowflakes...but I can't find a pattern small enough to fit on the square and still look nice. The squares are 5.5 x 5.5. Any suggestions to dress the afghan up a bit?

Try this pattern if you want snowflakes. They start at 3 inches.

If you haven't joined it together yet why not make the rest of your squares with rounds of an eyelash or fluffy or feathery type of yarn randomly placed, in another colour or variation of the colours your doing.This will jazz it up and make it very individual.You will be suprised at the effect on a granny square it lifts it considerably. Enjoy ! Jacqui

Just wanted to thank you again for your suggestion! I added some pink Lu Lu (I'm addicted to this yarn for some reason! LOL) to a few squares and it really made all the difference. I'm in love with my project again! Thanks!
