Changing color maintaining stitch pattern chevron

dragonlady

Question

I'm working a half double crochet chevron pattern that changes color often. I want to change colors about every 4 inches. I must be low on potassium because I just can't think when to change so that the look continues consistantly.

front stays front and back stays back.

Don't count the row of chain stitches as your first stitch row.  The next row when you start your pattern is considered Row #1. If you follow this rule, the tail of the starting row is always on your left when you start an odd row and this is the front of your pattern.  When starting an even row, you will be on the back of the item.  Also you can use a row counter to help you keep track of the rows as you work them.  Or use an old fashioned method, by writing the numbers of the row on a piece of paper as you start a new row.
