Do You Spin Your Own Yarn?

For anyone who missed hearing all about it, my husband gave me an antique spinning wheel for Christmas. He did a fabulous job of finding a working one with all its parts. It may even date back to 1810. I'm hoping to get tickets to Antiques Roadshow in Birmingham, AL this June to see if someone may be able to tell me if it's really that old.

I have now learned to spin on her. I've named her Merryweather.

I'll post more pictures of the wheel and some of my yarn attempts soon. (Got to finish doing taxes first.) If you're on Facebook, I have an album of Merryweather photos there.

Anyway, I thought I'd see if there are any other spinners around these days. Whether you spin on a drop spindle or a spinning wheel, I'd love to hear from you.

Feel free to post pictures of your spindles and wheels, your yarn, things you've made from your yarn.

What fibers do you prefer to spin with?

Where do you like to buy your fibers?
