Name of this stitch?

I was wondering if anybody knew the name of the stitch? It looks so familiar. I just can't pinpoint it. I was thinking it would look nice as a "toddler" size blanket.

I think so too. Puff stitch made between two puff sts of previous row. It seems like it would be a dense stitch pattern for a blanket.

Now to me it looks like double strands of yarn.  Alternating single crochet, chain one across.  Next row you do the same thing only the single crochet goes into the chain from the previous row.

There is a tutorial on YouTube using a large hook. It gives the appearance of double stranded but is not.
