Need help with afghan pattern...

I am brand new to this forum and need help with an afghan pattern I've begun (I've attached pictures with the pattern).  I'm confused about the "Trim" part.  It looks as though it's saying the trim goes on each of the 6 panels, but when I look at the picture I don't see the trim…it just looks like the 6 panels were connected together without any trim, and then the edging was done.  Am I missing something?  Can anyone help me out?  I just completed the first panel and wasn't sure if I should be putting trim on it or just considering it done and moving on to the next panel.

Sure sounds like you're supposed to trim everything.  Can you post a picture of your work?

Here's the first panel I made (no trim, obviously), one close up and one farther away (can't fit the whole thing in, it's really long).  Looking at it now I probably should have put it on a different surface so you could see it better…sorry!

what is the name of the pattern, and the name of the book it is in?

It's called "Afghans for all seasons" by Leisure Arts and it's Book 3.  The name of the blanket is "Chill Chaser"
