Help with hdc

Hello...I'm making hats at the moment working with in a hdc and wen I go on to my next round and u go under your 2 stitches there are actually 3?! Should I be going under the 3 or just the 2?! Many thanx

picture?  Not sure what you mean there are 3 stitches instead of 2..are you talking about the loops at the top of the previous stitiches?

Ok hope u can see it...so in the space between stitches there is the third piece...only happens because im working in a hdc?! Thanx xxx

On a hdc there is a "back bar"; i will try to find an illustration of it. For plain stitches, just ignore the back bar and stitch under the top two loops as you would on any other stitch.

 

You may find a pattern that has you do something with the back bar and in that case, follow the pattern directions.

in your photo, it looks like the fabric is stretched or your tension is very loose.  the back bar shouldnt really be visible in between the stitches, because the stitches should be right next to each other.  

 

is a photo of an unfinished sweater i made that is solid hdc.  sorry it is not more of a closeup but hopefully you can see the overall view of what the hdc looks like.
