How to make this stitch?

Hi!

 

I would like to make this stitch on the photo. Can anyone explain me how to do it?

 

It's like many small squares and I think it is similar to singe crochet stitch but it comes out in a diamond pattern... so the lines are up-down and left-right. Not runout like if you do normal single or double crochet stitch.

It looks like waffle weave stitch, but that is not normally done with sc.

It's hard to tell from the picture, since it is so small. It does look like waffle stitch, or a variation of it at the least. I am certain I have seen it somewhere before but it's been a long time, so I can't remember where it was. I'm going to look around a bit and see if I can come up with it again.

If the stitches are open, it's probably a type of crochet mesh stitch or filet crochet.

Create a set of chain stitches to the size you need

 

Next chain three into the fourth chain space from the hook

 

Then chain two.in the next space double crochet and repeat
