Baby Moccasins Stitch Question

Hello:

 

I came across this stitch in my pattern and because I have only recently took up crocheting, not sure about this stitch. The pattern has this stitch in brackets (2hdc in 1st, hdc). Am I doing 2hdc in first stitch and then a hdc in the next, or all in the first stitch.

Agree, a bit more info would help.  What part of the moccasin is this? 

 

From the bit that you've written, it sounds like you are increasing to go around a curve, perhaps at the toe or heel - alternating 2 hdc in 1 stitch, 1 hdc in the next.
