That ap between ch and dc

linamingo

Question

The pattern states: ROWS 2-17: dc in each dc, ch 3, turn

It does not specify that the chain is the first dc, so I am counting it as the first, and placing my 7th in the chain from the previous row. I have included a picture of the beautiful gap I am getting :/

The picture is posting side ways, the bottom left side is actually the top left side where I would ch 3 and turn again.

Thanks.

There are two good ways to get rid of that gap.  One is to chain 2 instead of 3.  the other is to sc into to first stitch, then chain 2, and continue on with your dcs.   I've been using the chain 2 method for ages, and it's really been working out great for me!

Happy crocheting!
