A walk in the woods afghan

Has anybody else done this afghan? I am working on the first panel border. I am confused as to where to place my first stitch. It says to put it in the end stitch." any help would be appreciated.

Well it says with RS facing join C over end stitch of row one at bottom right corner working over end stitches of rows across long edge. So bottom right corner of row one the end of the row I would say. Mary
