Hi. I'm Tamara. I'm a Fiber Addict.

So I have a stash. And I've been diligently working from my stash, only supplementing a little here and there where I needed.

My problem is figuring out the fastest way to create an inventory, without having to type in each specific yarn. I've looked around online for a Android App to let me use the bar code scanning feature, but none have yarn in them :(

As a last resort - I'll load it into Ravelry, but that will take sooooooo long.

The primary reason I want to inventory is to trade yarn I don't want for yarn I do want. I work full time, and have 3 girls, so I don't have time to run down and dig through my stash every time I see someone wants a particular yarn.

Any suggestions?

I sort, log, and store my yarn as it comes in. Much of my yarn is donated

for charity work for Project Linus, woman's shelter, and chemo caps.

I store the yarn in drawers which are stacked six height and three across.

I place a large index card with all that is in each drawer in the front and it matches a notebook which I keep. This way I always know what I have and can get to it easily. As I use it I cross it off my list. Each drawer holds 12-

18 skeins depending on skein size. I list Brand, type, color and dye lot, plus

the number of skeins. It takes time at first, but saves time in the long run.

Good luck setting up a system which works for you.:)
