question about TLC Essentials

I'm going to try making a shrug. (Wish me luck - garments are not my strong suit).

 

Anyways - I have TLC Essentials in the most gorges teal. It's a little scratchy tho. Does it soften up a lot when it's washed? Would you wear it against your skin like with a tank top?

 

I know I could work up a swatch and wash it but I just want to get started.

I don't know about how it washes up as I have never used the TLC yarn, though I order from Red Heart all the time, I just don't know enough about it to try it.

 

As far as the shrug goes, yes, you'd wear it with a tank top or or other sleeveless shirts to give the illusion of sleeves and get some warmth on your arms and shoulders, so it would be up against your skin.

Oh, I know it would be against my skin - that's why I'm wondering how much it softens up in the wash.

Rose, I've used TLC Essentials and I've found it softens up like RHSS once it is laundered with fabric softener.

oh good! Then it should soften up quite a bit.
