Easy flowers to turn into a pin??

For my grandmother's 80th birthday (celberation on saturday!) I've made her a scarf using some ombre thin chenille. I'd like to mkae a flower to go with it but have trouble deciding a flower to use. The idea is tomaking a mathcing flower, and turn it into a lapel pin....any ideas? What flowers have you used and loved?

i have made up my own flowers sometimes. ch 4 or 5 sl st to close ch 5 dc in ring ch 5 dc in ring till you have enough to look like flower with petals then you can go round again and work in the ch 5 loops to make it pretty. hope this makes sense
