Yarns not listed for patterns

You know how frustrating it is to buy a pattern and fall in love with the colors of the sample and then they don't list what they used? Of course you do, especially if you look at Leisure Arts patterns, especially the older ones. Well, I have a positive spin on that story. I emailed a company and asked! For me this is being very bold. Do you know that not 24 hours later I got a reply with the information that I needed. I was shocked and amazed and very happy. Now I know that if they don't have the information on the pattern leaflet, chances are they can still tell me what they used. Oh and it was Peter Pan DK, not something you usually find at Micheals or Joanns. Ok, I'll step down off my soapbox now and let someone else talk!

i rarely use what the pattern calls for anyway .. but good on you for finding out

I rarely use the same yarn, too. I've been meaning for a long time to make a chart grouping yarns that are the same type so I don't have to continually look online for weights, yardage, etc.

It wasn't that I necessarily wanted to use the same yarn, but I couldn't find the right shades of the colors I wanted. I really wanted to use Caron SS but the light blue was too sky blueish and the lt. country blue seemed to dark.
