Yarn Meter

I just received the yarn meter I ordered from the Woolery (down towards the bottom of the page). LOVE IT!!!!

 

In just a few minutes, I was able to determine that I spun 133 yards of yarn today. AWESOME

I want to get one of these for the yarn I intend to dye soon. I just can't justify spending the money now. Darn--

I have read that you can just get a line meter from a sports store in their fishing department. Now...I couldn't find one at my Wal Mart and we don't have a sporting goods store anywhere near us, so this was a birthday present. But I wonder if you could find one near you?
