Spool Knitted Wire Necklace

I had some red wire in my workroom that was taking up space and getting tangled among my stuff. This has been sitting for a long time, from when my son, in elementary school, did a unit on electricity and he had all this extra wire from school.

 

Rather than throw it out, I thought it would be perfect to make into a necklace. I spool knitted the wire until it was 18" and ended it off. I strung a strand of glass seed beads offset by red beads through the center. I finally put it together making it expandable to 21".
