Blocking clothing

Question

I am making the Triple play skirt/caplet/shirt and it says u need to block it ... It says to soak it in warm water and then lay it flat to dry in the right shape.... well my question is when my sil wears this and wants to wash it is she going to need to block it every time?? She is planning on sewing a lining in to it is this going to affect it? Thanks in advance:think

I would think you would probably need to dry it flat at the very least to keep the hem from getting all wonky. If it is lined and the lining is sewn only at waist/top, she could wash and then lay it out to dry flat, making sure the crochet part is longer than the lining. Another option instead of a lining might be to make a slip of sorts out of the maternal she is planning on lining it with. Basically just a simple skirt with elastic in the waist and hemmed to the proper length. That way she could wear it lined as a skirt or shirt, but still be able to wear it unlined as a caplet/poncho....Just some ideas!
