ok, i wonder what a prayer shawl is and what a confortghan is??? is a confortghan just an afghan? i don't understand. please enlighten me, lolol.

Both of these are variations of the same idea. A shawl or small afghan-type blanket is made to comfort someone who has undergone a personal loss or is in chemotherapy or something of the sort.

 

The person who makes the item may be praying for the recipient while she works on the item, therefore she might call it a prayer shawl. When the item is worn, the recipient can feel surrounded by the prayers of the maker.

A comfortghan or loveghan or "blankie" is made for the same reasons, but without the religious associations.
