Knits for Kids

I know this is a Crochet forum, but I am wondering if anyone here has heard of Knits for Kids? I decided I need to learn to knit sweaters, but being a "Larger American" I really don't want to "practice" on such a big piece. I found this charity and might make my practice work charitable by making child size sweaters.

 

Oh, they do also have patterns for crocheted sweaters

 

Just curious if anyone has heard or donated to them and what your overall thoughts/experience was.

Hi Beth, I've made sweaters for Knit for Kids in the past. I actually just sent them an email today because World Vision (I believe) has taken this over. I want to double check with them before making more sweaters. I will let you know what I hear.

Thank you Karin. I'm making the sweater anyway, if I can't send to them I will send to Knits For Needs. I just had never heard of this organization before so was curious.
