Sewing on an Afghan

Ambersafghans

Question

Hey all.

I am working on an American flag that I need to have done very soon. I need to sew the stars on. Any suggestions? Wip stitch or regular? yarn or thread?

Any and all info welcome!

(I have sewn some on, yarn and regular stitch and you can see some of the end stitches.)

When I sew something crocheted onto another crochet item, I use yarn. I would use the same color yarn as your stars to sew them on. To sew, what I do is weave in and out of the very last row of the item you are sewing on. For example, the last row of your star, right before the two loops from your last stitches, sew right along inside there. Bring the yarn up through one stitch, then back down the next stitch over - still sewing right behind the two loops.

I hope this makes sense!
