I was searching for a crochet group or club close to me....didn't find one, but thought this might be of some use to someone out there in Crochetville.

Wish I could figure out how to get a club started where I live.

It's not too hard to do.....Is there a library or community center in your area? You can put up a notice that a group is forming. Usually the library or community center will have places to meet, whether it's a conference room or just a few chairs to sit in. You can look for people near you by posting here. You can also join Ravelry (if you aren't already a member:) ) and look for people there. Also if you just go to the library or other public place and crochet, people will probably stop and talk to you, and some may be interested in joining you.

 

I would suggest that you not limit the group to crocheters. People who embroider, tat, knit, etc, can relate to the love of yarn and creating, and can be very inspiring as well.
