Patons Canadiana?

I haven't seen/touched this in person, but I bought a whole pile of it from knitting-warehouse.com to make a few afghans. I'm wondering how it crochets up and how soft it is. Specifically, would it be suitable for baby/child afghans? Has anyone used this? Thanks!

I have used it for a scarf (not yet complete) and I have started a child's sweater.

 

It is a joy to work with. (and I love the colours). Obviously, can't tell you about wear and tear, but I'm sure someone else will:)
